Another scorcher today and this week in Chatham-Kent, another heat warning in effect from Environment Canada.

Sunshine and a high of 33 today, humidex will make it feel like 40.

Thursday’s high is 35! Rain expected over the weekend.


In case you missed it, there have been some changes to recycling pick up dates in C-K.

Most communities in Chatham-Kent now have a new recycling day.

Joey Chestnut won his 13th Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest over the weekend.

He set a new world record by eating 75 hot dogs, breaking his own record of 74, which he set in 2018. Chestnut downed 21,750 calories.

In the Women’s Division Miki Sudo won by downing 48.5 dogs and buns.

The competition was held in a private location due to the coronavirus. The venue was air conditioned as each of the contestants were separated by plexiglass.


Lucky Brand Jeans has filed for bankruptcy.

The denim company expects to close many of their retail stores because of the coronavirus.


The Washington Redskins are finally considering a name change, but it took some serious corporate pressure to make it happen.

Last Thursday, FedEx asked the team to change its name. They pay the Skins $7.6 million a year for the right to call their stadium FedEx Field. Then Thursday night, Nike took all the team’s gear off their website. Then Pepsi jumped on the pile.

On Friday, the team issued a statement saying they would conduct a “thorough review” of the situation

 That same day, the Cleveland Indians announced they were working to determine, “the best path forward with regard to our team name.”

In other words, it sounds like both teams are getting a facelift.
