Mother Nature is turning the heat up!

Environment Canada calling for temperatures in the high 20’s all week. Sun and cloud today with a humidex of 33C.

Rain but still hot Tuesday and Wednesday, before the sunshine comes back for the weekend.

Even Alaska is getting hot this week. The U.S. sate will be under a heat advisory for the first time ever. It won’t be the first time they’ve reached these temperatures, but the National Weather Service only recently allowed for heat advisories to be issued there.

They’re calling for a high of 29C today with lots of sunshine. Fairbanks has has been warmer in the past, but this is unusual for June.

The G7 Economic and Security Summit hosted by Canada will open today in Kananaskis, Alberta.

The Summit will bring together the leaders of the seven G7 countries, as well as the European Union and other invited countries to discuss pressing global issues.

No officials from Russia will be present after the country was ejected in 2014. U.S. President Trump will attend with the growing tensions over the tariffs he imposed on Canada and Europe sure to be discussed. Trump has suggested in the past that Russia should be allowed to rejoin what had been the G8.


Another increase to cross the border at the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel.

Last week prices increased by 50 cents. Motorists paying by card will have to spend $7.75 Canadian to cross from Windsor into the United States. The increases went into effect on Sunday. The tolls have increased by $1 since earlier in the year.

Nexpress users still pay $5.90.


Cup Noodles is releasing a limited-edition Dill Pickle flavor this week.

The new flavour combines dill pickles with the its classic ramen, packaged in the recognizable Styrofoam instant-cup. This is the latest experimental release, which previously launched flavours like Campfire S’mores, Pumpkin Spice, Breakfast and Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese.

The limited-edition Dill Pickle flavour wil be available starting June 21st.
