Tonight is also opening night of the Dresden Rotary Club Summer Concert Series.

Tonight Milhouse will take the stage at 7. Sidestreets will host a BBQ beginning at 7. 50/50 tickets will be sold each week, draw held on August 21st.

Come out for some free music at Dresden Rotary Park all summer, and it’s free!


Tomorrow is a PA Day for most students in Chatham-Kent.

CK Recreation is hosting a pair of free swims in Wallaceburg and Blenheim.

The Gable Rees Rotary Pool in Blenheim will have some free open swim time 1:30-3:00 p.m. And the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool from 1:30-4:00 p.m.


The first Canadian in space has passed away.

Marc Garneau was 76 and not only was he the first Canadian in space, he was also a retired Naval Engineer, and a former federal politician. His death was reported on Wednesday in a statement from his wife Pam.

A moment of silence was held in the House of Commons on Wednesday, and condolences have been expressed by Canadian politicians from both sides of the aisle.

On October 5, 1984, he became the first Canadian to go into space. Throughout his career, he flew on three space shuttle missions, logging about 678 hours in space. From 2001 to 2005, he was president of the Canadian Space Agency.


The RBC Canadian Open tees off this morning.

Established in 1904, the RBC Canadian Open is the second-oldest non-major on the PGA TOUR schedule behind the BMW Championship (1899).

This years tournament is at the TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley. The winner takes home $1.764 million.

Last years winner was Robert MacIntyre. Rory McIlroy and Ludvig Aberg among the highest-ranking golfers set to play this weekend. Corey Conners is the leading Canadian at World #20.


The Edmonton Oilers take game 1 in overtime.

The Oilers take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 Stanley Cup Final over the Florida Panthers. Game 2 is Friday at 8 p.m. on CBC.

The NBA Finals begin tonight.

The Oklahoma City Thunder host the Indiana Pacers. The Thunder are lead by the NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who is from Toronto and raised in Hamilton.

Game 1 of The NBA Finals tips off at 8:30 p.m. on TSN.
