A woman with dementia adored her haircut so much, her husband’s letter to the stylist is everything.
Sara Verkuilen was working at Hair Cuttery in Round Lake Beach, Illinois last winter when an older couple walked in for a haircut. “I don’t think I had ever done their hair before,” Verkuilen told Upworthy. “They were walk-ins.”
The man and his wife were “just really cute together,” she recalled. “He was so sweet with her and obviously very in love.”
Behaving like a “Karen” might soon come with a cost in San Francisco, where the city is mulling a bill that would punish anyone who makes a racist or discriminatory 911 call.
A proposal was introduced to city leaders on Tuesday that would make it illegal to fabricate a 911 report based on someone’s race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, gender or sexual orientation. It’s called the Caution Against Racially Exploitative Non-Emergencies Act — or the CAREN Act for short.

Residents of senior care facilities around the world have been under intense lockdown for months to prevent the spread of coronavirus. That’s meant that people like Robert Speker, an activities coordinator at the care facility Sydmar Lodge in England, have had to get creative to keep residents entertained and uplifted.
They recreated classic album covers and shared them across social media.
