The Chatham Goodfellows are into the home stretch of the annual campaign.
The paper sales on the weekend brought in $30,728.94, less than $200 shy of last year’s total.
Toy delivery is set for Wednesday, December 17th. Those interested in volunteering can sign up at ChathamGoodfellows.ca or show up at the former Peavey Mart (St. Clair St., Chatham) at 5 p.m.
Food packing is Thursday morning, and delivery is around noon. Volunteers can show up at the Spirit and Life Centre to help out.

A week and a half left in the annual Salvation Army Kettle campaign.
Volunteers are needed. If you have a couple of hours or more to spare, contact the Salvation Army at CKSalvationArmy.org or call 519-354-8353.
Chris & Allanah will be volunteering at a kettle 10-noon this morning at Sobey’s Chatham.
Parks Canada rolled out free admission to all national parks on Friday as part of the Canada Strong Pass.
Free admission runs through January 15, 2026 and also includes 25% off camping and overnight accommodations.
In Ontario, four locations are included: Bruce Peninsula National Park, Point Pelee National Park, Woodside National Historic Site, and Rouge National Urban Park.
While park entry is free, parking and some reservation fees may still apply. The pass is aimed at encouraging Canadians to get outside during the winter, with activities like snowshoeing, tobogganing, and wildlife viewing available at many locations.
The L.A. Rams came back from 10 points down to beat the Detroit Lions 41-34 yesterday. The loss is a blow to the Lions a third straight playoff berth.
Detroit will need to win, and some help to get into the playoffs. They’ll play the Steelers on Sunday and then Christmas Day against the Minnesota Vikings in a key NFC matchup.
