Environment Canada has issued a Special Air Quality Statement for Chatham-Kent due to lingering smoke from numerous wildfires in the country.
About 2,285 fires have burned 37-thousand square kilometres so far this year.
Wildfire smoke can be harmful to everyone’s health even at low concentrations. People with lung disease such as asthma, or heart disease, older adults, children, pregnant people, and people who work outdoors are at higher risk of experiencing health effects caused by wildfire smoke.

The Festival of Giving online auction wraps up today.
The FoG Online Auction closes at noon today at FestivalofGiving.ca. The auction supports YWHO – Chatham-Kent Youth Wellness Hub Ontario, (formerly known as ACCESS Open Minds) it’s a walk-in, one-stop shop for youth, ages 12-25 to connect with mental health supports, substance use care, primary care, housing, and other community and social services.
The PGA Tour and Saudi Arabia’s LIV Golf agreed to merge Tuesday.
As part of the deal, the sides are dropping all lawsuits involving LIV Golf against each other effective immediately.
The proposed merger comes after the PGA Tour and LIV Golf have been embroiled in lawsuits regarding antitrust claims. The deal would end all pending litigation.

The Barbie movie will hit the big screen July 21st.
The movie stars stars Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as her plastic boyfriend, Ken.
There’s a rumour circulating around the internet that creating the perfect backdrop for movie required so much pink paint that it led to a global shortage.
An executive for paint company Rosco, confirmed that the production used a lot of the colour but added that there were other factors involved in the squeeze on pink paint. The sets were being developed during a time when we were still experiencing global supply chain issues, and the paint supply was hit particularly hard.
